Due to obvious reasons, we’ve spent more time than ever in our gardens this year and have seen some exciting garden furniture trends in 2020 come through the ranks. Now, however, it’s time to look forward and turn our attention to 2021 to see what garden trends you should expect to see. So, without any further ado, here are some of the hottest garden furniture trends we expect to see in 2021!

Inside Out Blend

Bramblecrest outdoor cushionsOf course, inside out blend had to come in at number one for us. We love all things indoor and outdoor furniture (it’s even in our name!) and this trend is all about blending the line between your garden and inside your home. The easiest way to achieve this is to think about what makes your house a home inside your house and applying this to your garden space. For example, adding outdoor cushions to your garden furniture sets will instantly transform your space and make it cosy. However, we recommend having a place to store your outdoor cushions properly, that is dry and free from moisture to avoid any mould and mildew ruining the pillow.

Another great way to blend the line between inside and outside is to incorporate rugs into your outdoor space. We know this may be slightly out there, but much like incorporating pillows it is perfect for making the outdoors feel cosier, but also to create different areas of space. Any waterproof rug will work well, but should still also be stored away during the Winter months with the cushions to ensure they are kept in the best condition possible.

Pops Of Colour

A pop of colour is definitely what the nation needs to brighten up our days after a not-so-nice 2020. Soft furnishings and accessories are brilliant for brightening up your outdoor space, by incorporating pops of colour and patterns. This is one of those garden furniture trends that we will be seeing a lot more of in 2021, so why not opt for a colour that features heavily in your home and apply that to your outdoor space?

Of course, there is also an option to add pops of colour to your garden by picking bright and beautiful plants. We would recommend taking the time to research different flowers and plants that would work well for your garden in terms of maintenance and colour. However, another personal touch that can be added is selecting plants that symbolise different things that mean something to you. You can take a closer look at flowers and their meanings in this fantastic article by Interflora.

Ambient Lighting

3 x La Hacienda Chimineas

Ambient lighting was one of 2020’s garden furniture trends and it definitely won’t be going anywhere in 2021. Fire pits and chimineas are perfect solutions to creating the best ambient lighting in your garden, these can become features of your garden space and will help to extend Summer nights. But at Inside Out Living we always like to go one step further, that is why we have fire pits built into garden furniture with our Bramblecrest Monterey garden sofa set. There are many reasons why you should definitely consider this garden furniture set – such as its attractive ceramic finishings – and you can find out all there is to know about it in our spotlight post.
