We’re extremely excited to bring news of our newly reinvigorated Urban Range, furniture which has long been amongst our most popular contemporary furniture. Perhaps you’re coming in fresh to our Urban collection? Well, simply put; it’s a seductively modern pine collection with trademark exposed dulled metallics with an unmistakable on-trend warehouse decor feel. We have long admired this furniture, and the valuable different option it gives in comparison to other Inside Out Living ranges. Read below to find out what’s new and why we’re plain excited to bring you these these changes.
Modern living room furniture perfected – trusting the process
The first thing to note is that lacquered pine is largely used across this furniture. This is pine timber which has been chemically treated and finished to achieve a tactile smooth finish, which not only looks great but is appealing to touch. What’s more is this process means an end result where the chunky pine wood takes on an attractive driftwood finish, not too dissimilar to our rustic reclaimed pine ranges. However, what makes this range stand aside from our others is the overt use of metal alongside timber. This urban contemporary furniture collection is typified by the exposed stainless steel metalwork. It’s a conscious design choice which only aids the cool, calm and collected aesthetic of this industrial inspired range. The metallic legs and table bases have been powder coated in order to best preserve them and increase their life, simply wipe down and dust to clean these.
Pine tables and storage
Home storage is now a key asset in the Urban range. The Urban large sideboard has expansive space with two cupboard doors and four drawers. The cupboard space is separated with an internal shelf but this pine sideboard rises to nearly a metre in height (90cm) so there’s plenty of room to stack crockery or store household bits that are needed on a semi-frequent basis. The lacquered surface top alone means this modern living room furniture excels as a stylish platform for displaying plants, framed pictures or ornaments.
There are two Urban pine tables debuting and we think they’re perfectly poised to add on-trend warehouse touches to any home, plus there’s enviable storage space built into both. Firstly, there’s the Urban Coffee Table which benefits from two drawers which are perfect for hide away storage of daily essentials like remote controllers for example. The drawer handles showcase the same tasteful gun metal grey as the legs. Perhaps most handily this contemporary coffee table boasts an elevated underlying shelf, perfect for placing belongings at arm’s reach. Elegant and cool contemporary furniture. Secondly, there’s the cute but substantial Urban Console Table. An assortment of fine symmetric design, bold lines and plenty of storage built in. We tend to think of this table as a display surface come storage unit as much as it is a console table. Two sizeable drawers and an elevated shelf will more than serve the storing of belongings and easy reach items.
Extending Dining Sets with new Gaudi Chair pairing
There’s no doubt that at the centre of the Urban collection (and its most popular pieces) are the Urban dining tables. These Industrially influenced pine tables, just like the entire collection, exude a cool and collected aesthetic and perhaps underline the chunky pine surfaces at their best. We think they’re a perfect fit for modern homes, apartments and even family houses. Knowing that everybody’s home is different was a key guiding force in ensuring we could offer two different sizes, the 1.6 metre and the 2 metre. Both of these are also capable of extending with one (or two) of the Urban Extension Leaf. We’ve also ensured this contemporary furniture is available as dining sets, making the ordeal of choosing new dining furniture easier.
The Urban Dining Sets now come paired with the fashionable and undeniably stylish Gaudi chair. The Gaudi is a fabric chic modern swivel chair, available in two colours, a lighter taupe grey tone and the dark marl grey. Perhaps it’s most defining feature are the artistically splayed metal legs, also constructed from a stainless steel that’s been powder coated for strength. We’re of the thinking that these chairs so effortlessly paired with this range that it was simply a disservice to leave them apart from one another. When buying a full dining set there’s a 10% saving when compared with buying all the items individually, plus all sets come with one extension leaf. It’s perfect contemporary furniture for hosting (we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a family Christmas still!)
Whilst we know time at home is all too easily found right now it’s those homely touches and cherished surroundings that can sometimes make the difference. We tend to think the new tweaks and additions made to the Urban range should slot nicely into many homes.
